I've been working on fixing these two things to the point that I assumed that I posted it here onto the portfolio, but unfortunately I couldn't find it anywhere so here you go.
I gave lots of work and attention to and I am partially still going to be working out the water physics-- it will slow you down, reduce your jump, make some "water ambience noises" and make a splash noise as you exit the water.
I also gave some love to the fog we have to work with, similar to water you will now be placed behind it. This however, will not affect your movement or anything similar to that. It took a bit with the layering but you now properly show behind the tilemap when over these tiles (yet above the cave background).
