Experimenting w Ground (Connected Textures)

I was playing around with what we had at our disposal, that being a dirt block of sorts and I wanted to see if I could try making some sort of connecting textures for it. I've seen some great reference before and figured I would give it a shot just to see what it looks like.

At the bottom you can see the original sprites, and on the top you can see some slightly modified version I came up with to make it look a bit more smooth.

I'm not fully sure what I like more, but it's still just a work in progress.
